"San Francisco's First Ever Communities Based Disability Rights Advocacy"

Community Leadership Alliance realizing that its San Francisco's central city communities had the highest density of senior and disabled housing projects in the city, decided to form the city's first ever disability rights advocacy.

Community Leadership Alliance was formed and founded in 1981 by a few low income residents in San Francisco's most impoverished neighborhoods. They felt that by organizing and uniting, and forming friendships and alliances with their city and state government officials that they would have a powerful voice and influence in determining the direction and status of their lives today and for the tomorrows.
